STIHL anti-vibration system

For more comfortable work. When your devices are switched on vibrations can occur in the grip area. The dampers and springs of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of vibrations from the engine to the handle and therefore to your body. The result: you hold your machine more comfortably and your work is much less tiring.

Combination lever with stop function

Simplified operation. Only one starting position on the control lever is required. Thanks to the stop function the control lever immediately returns to the working position as soon as the machine is switched off. This allows you to restart your machine directly from a warm state.

Compensator

Less maintenance. The compensator is a control system in the carburetor that uses pressure compensation to ensure that engine performance exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption remain virtually constant over a long period of time despite increasing clogging of the air filter. You only need to clean the air filter when you notice a noticeable reduction in performance. This means you can work with it for a long time without any maintenance being required.

Manual decompression

Start without effort. Thanks to the pressure relief valve you can start your device more easily. When starting you can release some of the compressed mixture from the cylinder by opening the valve. This protects the starting system and requires less force on the starting mechanism.

Electrically heated handles

For use in freezing weather. If necessary you can easily activate the electric heating of the front and rear handles. This keeps your hands warm even in cold weather and you maintain a firm grip on your device. The handle heating system consists of wear-free heating foils that do not require maintenance.

Open fuel cap without tools

Quick and easy to use. The tool-free fuel cap allows you to open and close oil and fuel tanks in a few simple steps thanks to a twist lock.

HD2 filter

The new HD2 polyethylene filter has pores that are up to 70% finer than a membrane filter or polyamide filter. It is therefore able to filter extremely fine particles. Adjustable oil pump

Allows precise regulation of the oil flow completely according to need. Setting to E-marking guarantees sufficient oil flow in any case and can achieve an oil reduction of up to 50%. For longer cutting edges and dry wood a larger oil volume must be set (image not contractual)

STIHL 2-stroke layered coil motor

Low energy consumption. With the STIHL 2-stroke cleaning engine with stratified flushing you reduce exhaust emissions and fuel consumption and thus operating costs. This 2-stroke engine requires little maintenance and consumes little fuel even at high power. Use a mixture of petrol and engine oil as fuel. The STIHL 2-stroke stratified flushing engine complies with the strict European Stage V emissions guideline.

STIHL Ematic system

Reduces oil consumption. The STIHL Ematic system consists of a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar a STIHL Oilomatic saw chain and an oil pump with adjustable oil flow. It ensures that the chain oil reaches the right place for lubrication and ensures that you can reduce your oil consumption by up to 50%. Do you often work in dusty environments or use long guide bars? With the new oil pump system you can quickly and easily increase the amount of oil at any time.

STIHL M-tronic

Reliable work and optimum performance. With STIHL M-tronic your tool delivers optimum performance right from the start. The fully electronic engine management controls the ignition sequence and fuel dosage in every working situation taking into account external conditions such as temperature altitude and fuel quality.

Captured nuts

From now on you won't lose the sprocket nuts when replacing the chain guide. The MS 261 is the first STIHL chainsaw to be equipped with captive nuts.

Preheating the carburetor
