Hand-started engine
ELIET deliberately opted for a spartan, no-frills design. The goal with the Vector 4S was to create a reliable shredder that is always ready for any shredding job and requires minimal maintenance. The Honda engine was therefore equipped with only a reliable manual start. Thanks to the low resistance of the blade system, the engine starts very smoothly.
Wide entry opening
The Vector 4S is a multi-purpose shredder that offers significant added value when it comes to processing bulky, leafy pruning waste. The hopper is designed for this purpose. The wide, flat hopper bottom is suitable for depositing large bales of hedge clippings and pushing them through to the wide feed roller. The contours of the hopper opening are nicely rounded to promote smooth and safe feeding.
Powerful feed roller
The maximum processing capacity of the Vector 4S is set at branch thicknesses of 80 mm. At 156 mm, the diameter of the feed roller is sufficiently large for this. With its sharp claws, the feed roller has a firm grip on branches and also climbs effortlessly over large volumes of pruning waste. The feed speed is dimensioned so that the motor rarely runs into trouble and the operator does not need to intervene often.
Simple operation
The control lever for the feed roller is strategically placed on each side of the feed hopper so that it is always within reach for both right- and left-handed users. The mechanically operated hydraulic valve has 3 positions. Switching between feed, stop, and return is very smooth and touch-sensitive.
Rotatable plastic blowpipe
The Vector 4S is a compact machine that you can drive into any garden. This allows you to reach exactly where the pruning waste is piled up. Ideally, you should position the machine with its feed opening facing the direction for the most favorable feed path. Nevertheless, you retain full freedom to blow the chips directly to your preferred location. After all, the blower pipe rotates 280°, creating a very large reach that allows you to choose the optimal setup in any situation. Because this blower pipe is made of plastic, blockages occur much less frequently.
Working safely
In the design of the Vector 4S, ELIET made no compromises when it comes to safety. A safety bar encloses the feed opening on three sides. The operator can even operate it hands-free if an emergency situation requires it. Additionally, a recognizable emergency stop button was strategically placed above the feed opening. This also leaves no doubt to bystanders about how to quickly and safely shut down the machine in an emergency situation.
Fast Pitstop
Without a doubt, the blades are the wear parts requiring the most maintenance. Consequently, frequent access to the grinding chamber is required for checking, sharpening, turning, or replacing blades. To address this, ELIET designed a large access hatch that provides tool-free access to both the blades and the impeller of the TurboDischarge system in less than 30 seconds. This ensures minimal machine downtime for maintenance, contributing to optimal operation and a long service life.
