Vibration guidelines
Here you will find basic information on the European Vibration Directive (2002/44/EC) concerning hand and arm vibration as well as useful tips for its implementation by employers. You will also find vibration data for STIHL machines.

Information for employers
This document provides basic information on the European Vibration Directive (2002/44/EC) and the effects of vibration on hands and arms. It also provides useful information on its implementation by employers.
Simplified procedure for classifying risk classes
The classification of the risk classes is specific to each product and depends on the equivalent vibration value at hv eq. STIHL offers you a simplified procedure on this page with which you can assess whether special safety measures are required for the employee. This procedure assumes that the same tool is used during a working day.

Calculation aid for determining the daily vibration load
To determine the permissible number of working hours per working day to determine the daily vibration load and as an alternative to using single or multiple parallel tools STIHL offers a calculation aid on this page.
Technical data sheets
STIHL power tools are hand tools for which the directive specifies a limit value for daily vibrations during use. The following documents contain the required vibration data for STIHL machines.
