With a displacement of 1 216.00 cm³ and a power of 6.4 kW the STIHL MS 881 petrol chainsaw is the most powerful series chainsaw in the world. Equipped with an exceptional power it impresses with its capabilities when professionally felling large timber and when working in mobile sawmills.

The modern 2-MIX engine guarantees standard-compliant emission values and relatively low fuel consumption. Thanks to the stop button the machine is always ready for use. The improved chain sprocket cover is equipped with captive nuts for extra convenience when changing the chain.

The MS 881 is very easy to maintain. Thanks to the diagnostic connection you can easily consult the most important data of the machine. The efficient HD2 filter extends the service life. The high-quality oil pump helps to regulate the oil flow if necessary.

STIHL anti-vibration system

For more comfortable work. When your devices are switched on vibrations can occur in the grip area. The dampers and springs of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of vibrations from the engine to the handle and therefore to your body. The result: you hold your machine more comfortably and your work is much less tiring.

Manual decompression

Start without effort. Thanks to the pressure relief valve you can start your device more easily. When starting you can release some of the compressed mixture from the cylinder by opening the valve. This protects the starting system and requires less force on the starting mechanism.

HD2 filter

The new HD2 polyethylene filter has pores that are up to 70% finer than a membrane filter or polyamide filter. It is therefore able to filter extremely fine particles. Compensator

Less maintenance. The compensator is a control system in the carburetor that uses pressure compensation to ensure that engine performance exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption remain virtually constant over a long period of time despite increasing clogging of the air filter. You only need to clean the air filter when you notice a noticeable reduction in performance. This means you can work with it for a long time without any maintenance being required.

Adjustable oil pump

Allows precise regulation of the oil flow completely according to need. Setting to E-marking guarantees sufficient oil flow in any case and can achieve an oil reduction of up to 50%. For longer cutting edges and dry wood a larger oil volume must be set (image not contractual)

Side chain tensioner

For simple and safe tension adjustment. With the side chain tensioner you can safely tension and replace the chain quickly and easily. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.

Preheating the carburetor

Open fuel cap without tools

Quick and easy to use. The tool-free fuel tank cap allows you to open and close oil and fuel tanks in a few simple steps thanks to a twist lock.
